Blinding

As you can see, my Florence and the Machine-.crush continues and it just grows bigger and bigger. This woman is just awesome. So charismatic that it scares you how much you slip under her influence without noticing it. But why would it be bad to be under control of something so honest and strong? I do not mind it for sure.

My new favorite song from her is called "Blinding". It is about awakening and forgiveness according to my interpretation. The singer/someone realizes that her life has been a dream, because of not letting things go, and being attached to feelings/people who were bringing her down. After the realization the deliberation comes, because she finally admits honestly to herself that she was living in a dream-like unrealistic addiction wanting to believe that something exists which she knew deep inside that did not. Realizing this she forgives to herself and to the other person at the same time. Florence paying attention to the detail again, you can hear the physical sin of this deliberation as she breaths out between singing the two lines.

As she does so, it deliberates that person as well at the same time who made her sad,  because he/she looses his/her power over her, and they are not connected any more in this sick and sadistic, emotionally tyring situation. Really beautiful message about how we can end painful relationships, and stop wasting energy on dreaming about dead things instead of living and putting effort to make lively things work.

Here is a quote from the song and below the video:

Seems that I have been held, in some dreaming state
A tourist in the waking world, never quite awake
No kiss, no gentle word could wake me from this slumber
Until I realise that it was you who held me under

Felt it in my fist, in my feet, in the hollows of my eyelids
Shaking through my skull, through my spine and down through my ribs

No more dreaming of the dead as if death itself was undone

No more calling like a crow for a boy, for a body in the garden
No more dreaming like a girl so in love, so in love
No more dreaming like a girl so in love, so in love
No more dreaming like a girl so in love with the wrong world

And I could hear the thunder and see the lightning crack
All around the world was waking, I never could go back
Cos all the walls of dreaming, they were torn right open
And finally it seemed that the spell was broken

And all my bones began to shake, my eyes flew open
And all my bones began to shake, my eyes flew open

No more dreaming of the dead as if death itself was undone
No more calling like a crow for a boy, for a body in the garden
No more dreaming like a girl so in love, so in love
No more dreaming like a girl so in love, so in love
No more dreaming like a girl so in love with the wrong world

Snow White's stitching up the circuitboards
Someone's slipping through the hidden door
Snow White's stitching up the circuitboard
