#100 days of honesty Day 81: Umbria

I found a travel plan on the internet by accident yesterday which contains the locations of Journey by Moonlight. The tour was organized by a Literature and Italian language teacher at Szerb Antal Gimnázium (Budapest, Hungary) in 2012. The travel plan is in Hungarian but I might link it here later because that program is so well put together and interesting.

The secondary grammar school was named after the famous Hungarian writer who wrote Journey by Moonlight (Utas és holdvilág in Hungarian) and this really cool teacher made an effort to organize a one week school excursion to Italy. During which students travelled through the cities what Mihály, the main character, and other people in the book visited.

Just to name a few, they are: Florence, Siena, Peruggia, Assisi, Gubio, Spello..Ravenna and Venice

I really love this novel and since there is an English language translation of it I wish that as many people would read it as possible. It is not only undoubtedly one of the best novels of 20th century Hungarian literature but I think it is one of the best novels of 20th century world literature as well.

Besides the one I linked here already you can read an other review if you would like to know more: http://www.tcs.cam.ac.uk/books/0037927-my-favourite-book-journey-by-moonlight.html
