Verla is  a cultural sight in Finland which is part of the World Heritage, it used to be a mill community and dates back to 1870. It was one of the leading centre of the Finnish forest industry. The mill closed down in 1964, but the  mill-museum and the preserved buildings of the community give a touch of the life of the community who lived and worked here, when the mill was still open.
